Who we are

Forte Valves Utilities Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is an independent UK energy and utility broker, registered in Scotland under company number SC679390. We are not a supplier: we compare and arrange contracts across a panel of suppliers on your behalf for electricity, gas, water and commercial waste.

What information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, through the following parts of the site:

• Get a Quote tool: business or home name, email address, phone number, postcode, energy usage details, meter type, and any tariff you select.
• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
• Chat assistant: the messages you send, and if you choose to share them, your email address (verified with a one-time code before we store it) and phone number.

We do not collect payment card details, and we never ask for your bank details in the chat assistant or quote tool.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

• Prepare and send you tariff comparisons and quotes.
• Contact you about a quote, dispute, arrears query, tenancy change, or reconnection you've raised with us.
• Share the minimum necessary details with the specific supplier you choose to switch to, so they can set up your contract.
• Keep a record of enquiries so our team can pick up where a previous conversation left off.

We rely on your consent when you submit a form or chat with us, and on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you've raised.

Who we share it with

We share your details with the supplier(s) you ask us to get a quote from or switch to, and with no one else, except where we're required to by law. We don't sell your information to third parties.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry results in a contract, we keep your details for the life of that contract plus six years, to meet standard accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. If it doesn't result in a contract, we keep your details for up to 24 months in case you come back to us, then delete them.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the site, and analytics cookies to understand how it's used, only with your consent via the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data and reloading the page.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's inaccurate.
• Delete your information, where we're not required to keep it for legal reasons.
• Restrict or object to how we use it.

Changes to this policy
